Merry-go-round... vertical style

This is not an overdue April's Fools' Joke:

Singapore is going to build the world's tallest Ferris Wheel, with a daunting height of 170m. Called the Singapore Flyer, 32 air-conditioned capsules each able to hold 25 people, will glide round in 37 minutes and allow you to take in the sights of Singapore's skyline and that of Malaysia and Indonesia. As the sun sets, the city will still be lit with laser beams from the wheel, which promises to be the island's answer to London's Millennium Wheel.

My take on it?

After the new Supreme Court in 2005, we just found another work which will give a visual headache when I go downtown. It's nice when you're up there. But considering the price tag, a hefty $200 million, I think the operator will have enough sense to put a correspondingly high ticket fee. From below, it's just a skeletal metal structure that will turn round at snail's speed, putting itself a potential target for terrorists to create a manmade hurricane and blow down the landmark of Singapore.

Argh. What have they done! Why can't they just put it on Sentosa?
